Changing the Signal

A sanctuary in the canyon · A congregation across the world
Topanga Canyon, California
A spiritual community built around
direct experience, nature, consciousness, and service.

Why Frequency Exists

We are surrounded by information, yet starving for wisdom.

Frequency Church is a contemporary spiritual community centered on direct experience, consciousness, nature, ancient wisdom, creativity, scientific inquiry, and service.

Our mission is to help people cultivate a deeper relationship with self, nature, community, consciousness, and the sacred. We create environments where people can become quiet enough to hear themselves again.

Born from lived experience.

“Frequency did not begin with a business plan. It began with a man trying not to die.”

After decades as a film director and cinematographer, Mark Kohl faced a long and destructive relationship with alcohol. Conventional approaches helped manage behavior, but did not fully reach the pain, fear, and disconnection underneath it.

A serious plant-medicine experience in 2014 opened a different path, one grounded in meditation, breathwork, nature, physical discipline, ceremony, community, and truth. Frequency grew from that lived rebuilding into a mission of service.

Topanga Canyon

Ancient Land. Living Spirit.

For more than 6,000 years, this land has been home to the Chumash and Tongva peoples, the original stewards of these mountains, canyons, and waters. Frequency Church is honored to gather here with gratitude, reverence, and responsibility.

Sacred Land

Oak trees, creeks, stones, silence, and sky create a living sanctuary for reflection, ceremony, and healing.

Grateful Stewards

We are guests on this land. We give thanks. We protect it. We share it.

A living sanctuary for healing, transformation, and remembrance.
